This restaurant was everything and more then expected. We decided to go for a late lunch around 2:30pm. We had clam chowder, calamari, boiled lobster and a lobster role, each with French fries and coleslaw and drinks. Our server was Cassie S. and she was fabulous: attentive, offered suggestions and clarity on menu items, checked in with us to be sure all was well. The food was delicious! We saw great reviews for this place, 75 years of service, and an attached seafood shop, so we had high hopes. The portions were great, but the textures and flavor just didn't match, sadly. When you have the raw materials on hand and charge the prices listed, you'd expect a specialty seafood joint on the water nearly a century into business to absolutely nail it. That just wasn't the case, unfortunately. I left the entrée more than half untouched, and that's how it ended. You'd think there would be follow-up questions as to why your prepared food is coming back, but there were none. Jake's Seafood is okay, but you'd want better than "okay" for the price. Excellent food. Everything we had was outstanding. 2 of us have celiac and all their breading is gluten free. We had fried calamari, onion rings, fried shrimp and fish & chips plus salads and other items. All the food was very fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. More

The clam chowder is delicious. Nice and thick. Calamari was also good. Could have been hotter coming out. Main meals are just ok. Mashed potatoes are from a box and vegetables are frozen. Swordfish was good although not the best cut. Husband got the baked seafood. He said was just ok. Drinks are very weak. Came last year and was phenomenal. Maybe tonight was just an off night. Great local seafood joint that’s been around forever. Their lobster bisque, buffalo shrimp and lobster roll were all really good. Cocktails are okay but as to be expected for a seafood spot. Always busy but the wait is usually minimal, if at all. Service is quick and staff are kind. More
